Lions Compete at Inter-Regional Rumble

OBERLIN, Ohio – The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team competed at the Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday morning.

A total of 270 runners ran the 6K race with the Lions having four runners place in the top-100.

Catie Bertges (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) led the way with a 34th place finish.  The junior crossed the line at 22:28.60.  Haley Hughes (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton) finished in 23:02.70 for 70th place.

Katie Patterson (Erie, PA/Villa Maria) ran well, coming in 86th place.  Patterson came in with a time of 23:17.70.  Victoria Harwood (Fair Haven, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven) was close behind in 91st place.  Harwood finished at 23:21.20.  Danielle Stanko (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown) rounded out the top-five Behrend runners with a time of 23:42.70.

As a team, the Lions placed 11th out of 30 schools.

Behrend will be back in action on October 27th for the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) championship race.  Start time is schedule for 11 a.m.
