Lions Run at the Dickinson Invitational
The Penn State Behrend women’s cross country team finished 25th out of 35 teams in the 6k event Saturday at the Dickinson Invitational. The Lions finished with a team score of 311.
CARLISLE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team finished 19th out of 35 teams Saturday with a team score of 708 at the Dickinson Invitational long/short competition.
In the 6k competition, the Lions finished 25th with a team score of 311.
Katie Manno (Erie, PA/McDowell) led the Lions finishing 109th with a time of 26:26.51. Placing 149th was Miranda Boatman, (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte) who finished with a time of 27:39.11, second fastest for the Lions on the day.
Freshman Catherine Fox improved from her previous 6k time and finished with a time 27:58.12. Fox finished 161st. Behind Fox was Alexa Haverly. (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) Haverly also improved her 6k time finishing with a mark of 31:44.27
In the 4k event, Behrend finished 29th out of 40 teams with a team score of 392.
The Lions were led by Abby Gilmore (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) in the 4k event. Gilmore placed 181st with a time of 18:19.51. Franki DiSalvo finished in 208th place running a 19:02.73.
Just seven spots behind DiSalvo was freshman Rachel Pell. (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward). Pell ran a time of 19:20.38
Behrend will run again October 11th at 11:00 am at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational.
