Women Win Houghton Invitational; Crissman Finishes First

HOUGHTON, NY - The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team finished with a team score of 30 to win the Houghton Invitational Saturday afternoon.

The Lions had six runners finished in the top 15 to help propel them to the top spot. Houghton (47) and Alfred State (88) came in second and third place, respectively. Robert Wesleyan and Elmira rounded out the top five with scores of 107 and 129, respectively. Keuka finished with a team score of 139 to put them in sixth place.

Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) finished first overall with a time of 19:12.3 for the second race in a row to help Behrend capture their third team win of the season. Caitlin Plazony (Fairview, PA/Fairview) was right behind her, finishing in 19:29 while Rachel Ramsey (North Versailles, PA/East Allegheny) finished with a time of 20:00.4.

Becca Worley (Townville, PA/Maplewood) and Katelyn Hancock (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) finished 10th and 12th overall with times of 20:44 and 20:46.6, respectively. Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) rounded out the top 15 and finished sixth for the Lions with a time of 21:01.8

Behrend will be back in action Saturday, October 15 when they compete in the Inter-Regional Meet beginning at 11 a.m.
