Carr Competes at 2017 NCAA Cross Country National Championship

ELSAH, IL. – Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area) finished with a time of 22:18.9 at the 2017 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships in Elsah, Illinois Saturday afternoon.

The freshman finished the 6K race in 113th place at the Principia North Farm Cross Country Course.

Earlier this month, Carr became the second ever Penn State Behrend women's cross country runner to advance to the national championship following a seventh place finish at the NCAA Mideast Regional in Carlisle, Pa.

Saturday's race completes a dream season for Carr, who earlier this year won the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) championship race and was named AMCC women's Runner of the Year. She finishes her rookie season as one of the most successful athletes ever to run at Penn State Behrend, and still has many more seasons to come.
