Women's Cross Country Finishes Fourth in Season-Opening Invitational

HOUGHTON, NY - The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team had three runners in the Top 20 in the season-opening invitational held at Houghton on Thursday evening.

Key Moments:

* The Lions tallied a fourth-place finish, following behind Rochester, Brockport and Houghton
* Sophomore Olivia Nola (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) paced the Behrend field of 12 runners in the first meet of the season
* Nola placed fourth overall with a time of 15:07.18 in the 4K
* Nola shaved one minute, 59 seconds off her season-opening time at Houghton last season to go from 13th to fourth one year later
* Newcomer Lindsey Hartle (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth), running in her first collegiate race, led the freshmen and took 15th place overall in 15:55.06
* Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area) rounded out the top three, crossing the line in 15:59.43 for 17th overall
* All three runners (Nola, Hartle, Carr) registered a time faster than the team's best time last year on this course
* Megan Swantner (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) improved almost two minutes from last season, running 17:05.76 to finish fourth on the team (39th overall)
