Four Lions Earn AMCC Weekly Honors
Four Penn State Behrend student-athletes were selected as Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week.
ERIE, Pa. – Four Penn State Behrend student-athletes were selected as Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week.
Senior women's tennis player Erica Jasinski (Fairview, PA/Fairview) went undefeated in doubles action at the No. 1 spot this week, while going 2-0 at No. 1 singles in AMCC action. She has not lost a doubles match this season, while going 4-1 in singles at the top spot.
Women's soccer forward Mia Zec (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) registered five points in a pair of wins last week to notch Offensive Player of the Week honors. She scored both goals, including the game-winner and a penalty kick in a 2-1 victory over Allegheny, while also adding an assist vs. Houghton.
A pair of Behrend cross country runners earned weekly honors.
Junior Kody Klein (North East, PA/Cathedral Prep) led the way for Lions at the Behrend Invitational with a first-place time of 26:52.5, averaging a mile time of 5:24.
Second-year runner Lindsey Hartle (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth) earned a first-place finish for the Lions at the Lions home invite (6k) with a time of 24:05.0. Hartle's average mile time was 6:27.
