Women’s Cross Country Prepped for AMCC Title Defense
The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team will compete in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2, hosted by Pitt-Greensburg.
GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team will compete in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2, hosted by Pitt-Greensburg. The 6k race begins at 11 a.m. at Westmoreland Fairgrounds.

* The Lions are looking for their sixth consecutive and 14th overall championship
* Lindsey Hartle (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth), Bethany Litwiler (Reynolds, PA/Reynolds), and Ivy Laffan (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) all earned All-Conference honors for their finishes at last season's championships
* Hartle placed fourth (24:33.18), while Litwiler and Laffan registered times of 25:17.50 and 25:53.84 for seventh and eighth place finishes
* As a team, Behrend owns 11 of the top-15 conference 6k times this season
* Hartle sits on the rankings with the third, fifth, 13th and 14th top marks
* Followed by Hartle is freshman Baylee Dernar (Wattsburg, PA/Seneca), who recorded the fourth and 10th fastest times this year, while fellow freshman Macie Horvath (Hermitage, PA/Hermitage) is seventh on the list with a time of 25:46.8 at Gettysburg
* Other Lions to deliver top AMCC marks are Litwiler (eighth/25:54.1), Alivia Hetrick (Waterford, PA/Waterford) (ninth/25:57.5), Laffan (11th/26:05.4), and Sam Abate (North East, PA/North East) (12th/26:13.7)
* The top-15 runners on Saturday will be named to the AMCC All-Conference Team
