Women’s Cross Country Travels To Fredonia for NCAA Regional Championships
The Penn State Behrend women’s cross country team will compete in the 2024 NCAA Regional Championships on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Fredonia State University Country Course.
FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team will compete in the 2024 NCAA Regional Championships on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Fredonia State University Country Course. Race time is scheduled for 11 a.m.

* Behrend's top-seven runners will compete in the regional race on Saturday
* At 2023 Regionals, Lindsey Hartle (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth) delivered a 72nd place finish (23:57.5), while Bethany Litwiler (Reynolds, PA/Reynolds) placed 87th with a personal-best mark of 24:26.9
* Ivy Laffan (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) ran a time of 25.24.4 for 102nd at last season's regional race
* The Lions are coming off their 14th overall and sixth straight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship
* Freshman Baylee Dernar (Wattsburg, PA/Seneca) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Women's Newcomer of the Year
* In her first collegiate conference championships, Dernar ran a time of 26:50.8 for fourth place
* The top-10 6k runners from AMCC Championships were selected to All-Conference Team
* Hartle, the AMCC Individual Runner-Up, recorded an All-Conference selection time of 25:59.8. This marked the third All-Conference honors for Hartle
* Joining Hartle and Dernar on the All-Conference Team were Macie Horvath (Hermitage, PA/Hermitage), Litwiler, Alivia Hetrick (Waterford, PA/Waterford), and Sam Abate (North East, PA/North East)
* Horvath and Litwiler placed right behind each other in sixth and seventh place with times of 27:18.0 and 27:22.0, respectively
* Hetrick recorded a ninth-place time of 27:47.9, while Abate tallied a time of 27:48.0 for 10th place
* Head coach Greg Cooper notched his 13th AMCC Coach of the Year award
