Women’s Bowling Finishes Fifth At Bobcat Baker Tournament

MONROEVILLE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's bowling team placed fifth at the two-day Bobcat Baker Tournament hosted by Pitt-Greensburg with a record of 3-5 in eight baker matches.

Key Moments:

* The Lions went 2-2 to end in third place after day one, picking up victories over La Roche (690-658) and Mt. Aloysius (727-658)
* In the second match of the day, Behrend put out the baker lineup of Ashley Debich (Leechburg, PA/Kiski Area), Emily Warrene (Tarentum, PA/Deer Lakes), Chelsea Wayne (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy), Sidney Batsa (Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe), and Bella Pilyih (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler Area) that recorded a win against the Redhawks
* To end Saturday afternoon, Debich served as the lead bowler once again, while Pilyih was the anchor to help the Lions defeat the Mounties. Also, Katy Richardson (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) was added as bowler three for Wayne in the final match of day one
* To begin the final day of the tournament, Penn State Altoona pulled off a one pin advantage to take down Behrend (719-718)
* The Lions earned their first victory on Sunday in the final match against Pitt-Greensburg, 762-635
* The lineup of Debich, Warrene, Richardson, Batsa, and Pilyih took four of five games from the Bobcats to win the last match of the tournament
* As a team, Behrend finished with a total pinfall of 6,680 and average game score of 148.4
* The Lions knocked down a team-high 823 pins in their match against Alvernia
