Sada, Behrend Lions Among NCAA Statistical Leaders

ERIE, Pa. – Senior short stop Scott Sada (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown) and the Penn State Behrend baseball team were named NCAA Division III statistical champions for doubles per game during the 2019 season.

Sada, who set the DIII record for career doubles this year, earned his first-ever national statistical championship honor for smacking 24 doubles in 41 games for a .59 average to finish first among the qualified student-athletes. The infielder also broke the program's career doubles mark last season and finished with 90 for his career, just six shy of setting the college baseball record.

As a team, the Lions were ranked first overall among DIII teams with 2.76 doubles per game. Behrend registered 113 in 41 games, led by Sada's 24. Freshman Josh Wagner (South Park, PA/South Park) finished third in NCAA statistics with 23 doubles and third in doubles per game (.56).
