FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team took down Elizabethtown Wednesday afternoon thanks to a pair of three-run innings.

Key Moments:

* The Lions took a 1-0 lead after an RBI single from Daniel Boehme (Peters Township, PA/Seton LaSalle) in the top of the first; however, Elizabethtown responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning
* The Blue Jays tacked on another run in the second inning on an RBI single from Quinten Perilli
* Mac Ciocco (Venetia, PA/Peters Township) cut Behrend's deficit to one run (3-2) with an RBI single in the top of the third
* A three-run fifth and three-run seventh gave Behrend the advantage (8-3), highlighted by a Ciocco RBI double and a Boehme two-run homer
* Freshman Jake Manendo (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) made his second appearance out of the bullpen this season and held Elizabethtown scoreless in 2.2 innings, scattering four hits with a strikeout
* Thomas Nicely (Delmont, PA/Franklin Regional) continued his nice start to the season with an RBI single in the eighth inning, the Lions also crossed the plate on a pair of miscues to extend their lead to 11-3
* The Blue Jays fought back in the bottom of the eighth, plating four runs to give them a four-run deficit heading into the final inning
* Joe Lang (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) halted Elizabethtown's comeback attempt with a scoreless ninth inning, finishing with four strikeouts in 2.2 innings of relief
* Ciocco finished 3-for-4 at the dish with two RBIs, while Boehme drove in a game-high three RBIs
