The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team picked up a number of honors as the 2008 AMCC Soccer All-Conference awards were announced on Tuesday.
Behrend's all time scoring leader Ahmad Salim (Cranberry Twp./Seneca Valley) was named to the first team. Salim scored 12 goals and tallied 26 points on the year. Salim 32 career goals and six assists tallying 70 points is a school record. This is the third time that Salim has been named to the All-Conference team. Along with Salim, Behrend goalie Dustin Walker (Apollo/Kiski Area) was also named to the first team. Walker accumulated a goals against average of 1.09 on the year making 86 saves. This is the second year in a row for the Behrend junior to be named to the first team.
Adding to the All-Conference honors were Mike Seth
(Pittsburgh/Baldwin),
Josh Teti (McKeesport/Elizabeth Forward) and Jordan Hoffay (McKees
Rocks/Montour) who all made the second team. This is Seth's
fourth time making the All-Conference team. Seth led the
Behrend Lions through the mid-field scoring three goals and an
adding one assist on the year. Hoffay's solid work from the
back earned him recognition as a defender. Teti was third on
the team in both goals and points. Tallying four goals and
and two assists.
The Behrend Lions ended their season in the first round of the ECAC tournament. Losing to Wilkes University 2-1 in overtime. The blue and white finished the season at 13-8-1.
