The blue and white took on a tough spring training schedule with many Division III powerhouses.  The Behrend Lions would come away with a 6-4 record on their spring break trip with a key win over Ithaca.

Penn State Behrend senior pitcher Julie Koman (McKees Rocks, PA/Montour) was named the AMCC pitcher of the week in the opening week of the season.  Koman helped the Behrend Lions to a 6-4 start with a 3-1 record herself. The senior shut out Brandeis while striking out five batters.  Koman would take on Division III power Ithaca.  She would go nine innings to take a 5-4 victory.  Koman would get another win by striking out eight batters and giving up only one earned run over Emerson. 

The blue and white will travel to Medaille on March 25 to begin the AMCC regular season.  They will then travel to Mt. Aloysius on March 28 before they play their first home game on March 29 against Frostburg State.
