Behrend Women's Cross Country Poised to Defend AMCC Championship

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team will travel to Cresson, Pa., to compete in the 2022 AMCC Championship held on the campus of Mt. Aloysius on Saturday. The 6K race begins at 11 a.m. followed by the men's race at 12:15 p.m.

* The Behrend Lions are looking to capture fourth consecutive title
* The Lions have three championships in a row on two occasions, but never four
* Behrend's top runners features two-time AMCC Runner of the Year Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin) and the 2021 AMCC Runner of the Year Olivia Nola (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy)
* Nola and Carr are also returning AMCC Champions
* The Lions hold the Top 12 times in a 6K this season
* On top of the charts is Nola with an AMCC-best time of 23:20.1 at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble two weekends ago
* Carr is second with a time of 23:30.1 at the Behrend Invitational on Sept. 16
* Lindsey Hartle (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth) holds the sixth and seventh fastest time in the conference, while Megan Swantner (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) and Bethany Litwiler (Reynolds, PA/Reynolds) are ninth and 10th, respectively
* The Top 10 runners will be named to the AMCC All-Conference Team
