Women's Cross Country Captures AMCC Championship; Carr Individual Champion

CRESSON, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team captured their fourth consecutive Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships on Saturday afternoon held by Mt. Aloysius.

Score: Penn State Behrend – 17 team points
Results: Behrend 1st out of 4 teams

Key Moments:

* The Lions had seven runners in the Top 10 to capture the teams 12th overall championship with 17 team points
* Senior Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin) was the AMCC Individual Champion for the third time in her career
* Carr won the race in 24:06.4 to edge out teammate Olivia Nola (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy)
* Nola was runner up with a time of 24:35.1, while Lindsey Hartle (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth) placed third (26:04.3) to get Behrend the top three spots in the race
* Emily Micciche (Weymouth, MA/Weymouth) clocked in with a time of 26:32.2 for sixth place, followed by Bethany Litwiler (Reynolds, PA/Reynolds) is seventh (27:02.7)
* Coming in eighth place was Ivy Laffan (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf), running in 27:36.1
* Megan Swantner (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) rounded out the Top 10, crossing the finish line in 28:33.3
* Alfred State took second place (61) and Hilbert was in third (62), while La Roche was fourth (109)
