Men's Golf Takes Third at Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic

CRESSON, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team placed third out of nine teams at the two-day Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic held at the Sinking Valley Golf Course on Friday and the Summit Country Club on Saturday.

Results: Behrend finished in third out of 9 teams (641)

Key Moments:

* The Lions carded a 333 on Friday at the Sinking Valley Golf Course hosted by Altoona and came back to fire a 208 on day two hosted by Mt. Aloysius at the Summit Country Club
* The two-day totals resulted in one winner;  Westminster (589)
* Penn State Altoona placed second with a 598 and Behrend followed in third with a 641 score
* Alex Pol (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) had the team-low score on both days, finishing with a 150 (76-74) to tie for fifth overall
* Pol tallied his lowest scores of the season with a 76 and 74
* Ryan Johnson (Centre Hall, PA/Penns Valley) had the next best score for the Lions
* Johnson tied for 11th place with a 83-75 for 158
* Jake Caldwell (Belle Vernon, PA/Belle Vernon) came in third on the team and for 18th with a 164 (83-81), while Phil Pedano (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) shot a 169 over the two days (91-78)
* Rounding out the top five was Johnny Main (Sewickley, PA/Quaker Valley) with a 181 (93-88)
