On Saturday, the men's soccer team lost 2-1 to Utica in the 2008 Herb Lauffer Memorial Soccer Tournament.

A back-and-forth first half of soccer produced a scoreless 39 minutes until Utica's Nathan Broedel's pass to Robert Russell produced a goal. The blue and white responded almost immediately as Ahmad Salim (Cranberry/Seneca Valley) scored with less than two minutes remaining in the first half.

The tie was broken when Broedel connected with Robert Stevens in the fifty-third minute of play as Utica took a 2-1 advantage that would end up being the final.

Behrend outshot Utica 16-7 and led the stat sheet in corner kicks, 8-3. The blue and white will play Geneseo (0-1) at 2:00 p.m. in the consolation game, while Baldwin-Wallace and Utica square off in the title game at 4:00 p.m. on the Behrend Fields.

Earlier, Baldwin-Wallace (1-0) slid past Geneseo 2-1 in overtime to move on to the Herb Lauffer Memorial Soccer Tournament championship game.
