Behrend Men's Swimming Defeats Penn State Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa. – Tim Compton (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) and James Connolly (Allentown, PA/Parkland) each won two events to lead the Penn State Behrend men's swimming team past Penn State Altoona in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Saturday afternoon.

* The Behrend Lions won five events to earn the conference win over Altoona
* Compton finished first in the 1000 freestyle in 10:19.67, before claiming the 200 IM (2:03.68) in the second to last event of the day
* Connolly led the Lions in the 200 freestyle with a winning time of 1:52.81
* Connolly then tallied a time of 5:08.27 for first in the 500 freestyle
* Jake Schmidt (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep), Jacob Eshelman (Franklin, PA/Franklin), Matt Karenbauer (Butler, PA/Knoch) and Justin Heller (Franklin, PA/Rocky Grove) posted a two-second win over Altoona in the final 400 freestyle relay in 3:17.76
