Men's Tennis Blanks Mt. Aloysius in AMCC Opener

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team earned their first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) win of the season with a 7-0 victory over Mt. Aloysius on Saturday afternoon at the Westwood Racquet Club.

* Behrend did not give up a match in doubles or singles action
* In doubles, the Lions only allowed four match points to take a 1-0 lead in the match
* Jonathon Laier (Lansing, MI/Holt) and Owen Sinnott (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) tallied a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles
* Graham Louis (Erie, PA/Fairview) and Vitaly Pikalo (Hampton, PA/Hampton) blanked Matt Jacobs and Matt Franz, 6-0, in the second spot
* Aidan Piazza (Fairview, PA/Fairview) and Paul Flick (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) closed out third doubles with a 6-1 decision
* All six doubles players won their single matches
* Piazza, playing at No. 6 singles, shut out Trent Strous at 6-0, 6-0
* Laier posted a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 before Sinnott followed with a 6-3, 6-2 victory in the second spot
* At No. 3 singles, Pikalo won 6-3, 6-3 and Louis registered a 6-1, 6-2 decision at No. 4 singles
* Flick managed a 6-4, 6-4 win over Hunter Reed at No. 5 singles to help the Lions earn a convincing AMCC victory
