Track and Field Hosted Mercyhurst and Gannon Tuesday

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend track & field teams competed in a tri-meet with Gannon and Mercyhurst on Tuesday afternoon.

Key Moments:

* The Lions competed at home for the first time this season, against Mercyhurst and Gannon
* Amory Coleman-Reeves (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) set the facility record in the long jump with a leap of 6.97m, also an All-Atlantic qualifying distance
* Coleman-Reeves also qualified in the 100m dash, running 11.10 for first place
* Braeden Smith (Erie, PA/Seneca) won the high jump, jumping 2.00m to qualify for the All-Atlantic meet
* Samuel Hetrick (New Bethlehem, PA/Redbank Valley) followed Smith in the high jump with an All-Atlantic mark of 1.95m
* Madison Kappeler (Cecil, PA/Canon-McMillan) won the women's pole vault event with a season-best mark of 3.05m
* Kappeler also won the 100m, claiming the best mark in the CSAC
* Both men and women's 4x800m teams qualified for the conference meet
* The women finished second with a time of 10:52.08 and the men took home first, running 8:05.31
* Matt Michael (Erie, PA/Iroquois) hit qualifying marks in both the men's shot put and discus
* Michael threw for 14.97m in the shot put and 42.46m in the discus
* Dan Dabrowski (Erie, PA/Harborcreek) won the men's discus event with a toss of 45.55m, qualifying for the All-Atlantic meet
* Emily Mischen (Gibsonia, PA/Deer Lakes) took over the top spot in the CSAC in the shot put with a throw of 11.40m
