Men's Track and Field Resume Action This Weekend

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's track team is back in action for the first time since the holiday break as they travel to Houghton for the Highlander Invitational on Saturday.

Behrend News & Notes:
* Last time out, the Lions had four events with Top-5 finishers at the Nazareth Alumni Opener
* Phoenix Myers (Erie, PA/Seneca) placed first in the one mile run for the second time this year including a final time of 4:25.17 at Mount Union, good for 27th in the nation
* Myers also finished first in the 5000m at the Invite hosted by Mount Union to open the season
* Islam Daghestani (Meadville, PA/Meadville Are) finished in the Top-5 in pole vaulting at both invitationals this year, most recently placing third at Nazareth with a mark of 4.10m
* Last meet, the group of Kody Klein (North East, PA/Cathedral Prep), Nick Hartman (Cranberry Twp., PA/Seneca Valley), Eric Stehlik (Northport, NY/Northport) and Zachary Tingley (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) finished fourth in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:33.56, the 48th best time in Division III
* Klein also ranks 44th in the 800m with a mark of 2:00.83
* Braeden Smith (Erie, PA) and Samuel Hetrick (New Bethlehem, PA/Redbank Valley) are tied for third across Division III with a 2:04m leap in the high jump, both occurring at the Nazareth Invitational
