Three Qualify for AARTFC Championships Following First Outdoor Meet of the Season

PITTTSBURGH, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's track and field team had three qualify for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field (AARTFC) Championships this weekend during their first outdoor meet at Carnegie Mellon. There was no team score due to inclement weather.

Noteworthy:

* Following NCAA All-American performances in indoor, Braeden Smith (Erie, PA/Seneca) and Samuel Hetrick (New Bethlehem, PA/Redbank Valley) punched tickets to participate in the high jump for the AARTFC Championships in May
* Smith and Hetrick both had marks of 1.91m this weekend with Smith taking first followed by Hetrick in second
* Dan Dabrowski (Harborcreek, PA/Harborcreek) joins the aforementioned after a mark of 46.91m in discus, placing second
* Phoenix Myers (Erie, PA/Seneca) set a career best in the 3000m, finishing in 8:59.10 and taking home fifth place out of 23 competitors
* Smith (6.38m) and Evan States (Punxsutawney, PA/Punxsutawney) (6.23m) took fifth and sixth, respectively in the long jump
* Eric Stehlik (Northport, NY/Northport) was the sixth to finish in the 200m at 23.31
* James Banks (New York, NY/Xavier) finished just behind Stehlik in eighth at 23.62
