BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Penn State Behrend men's track & field high jumper Samuel Hetrick (New Bethlehem, PA/Redbank Valley) is the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship Runner Up and named an All-American on Saturday afternoon.

Hetrick cleared 2.06m in the high jump and was one of two athletes competing for the national title at 2.09m. Same Beatty from Central College and Hetrick each had three attempts at 6-10.25, each failing all three attempts. It came down to Beatty only needing one attempt at the 1.98m (6-06) and Hetrick reached the height on his second attempt.

Hetrick entered the event with the best mark in Division III and tallied his best finish in his second chance at nationals.
