Dabrowski Sets New Discus School Record; Seven Lions Garner All-AARTFC Honors

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Senior thrower Dan Dabrowski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) broke his own Penn State Behrend outdoor men's track & field discus record on the final day of the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Outdoor Championships on Thursday.

Key Moments:

* On his sixth and final throw of the day, Dabrowski threw a distance of 171-5 for a runner-up finish in the discus and passed his previous school record of 170-2 that he set his season at the John Papa Invitational
* Derek Hillhouse (Erie, PA/McDowell), who was a wild card entry for the Behrend men at regionals, matched his personal best with a height of 6-4 for seventh place in the high jump. Samuel Hetrick (New Bethlehem, PA/Redbank Valley) tied for 10th in this event (6-2)
* In the javelin, Matthew Laslavic (Evans City, PA/Seneca Valley) tallied a new personal record with a score of 182-0 for sixth place. Freshman Aiden Grieneisen (Brockway, PA/Brockway Area) placed 16th in the javelin (163-9)
* Kody Klein  (North East, PA/Cathedral Prep) ran a season-best time of 1:54.50 for sixth place in the 800m
* ​Antonio Faraone (New Castle, PA/Union) and Alex Cotton (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) finished ninth (49-1 1/2) and 11th (48-1 3/4) in the shot put, respectively
* ​The 4x8 relay team of Klein, Nicolin Pierce, Aidan Reinsel, Aiden Seeman ended regionals with a sixth-place time of 7:59.98
* The top eight finishers in each event earn All-AARTC honors
* ​As a team, Behrend tied for 14th out of 46 teams with 19 points
