Behrend Men's Volleyball Hosts Tri-Match Sunday

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team will host Bethany and Gallaudet for a non-conference tri-match in the Junker Center on Sunday afternoon. Matches begin at 11 a.m.

Behrend News & Notes

* Behrend is coming off a pair of losses on Saturday for a 4-10 overall record
* The Lions fell to No. 11 Hobart 3-1 and Nazareth, 3-0
* Last weekend, the Lions recorded their first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) win  
* Behrend defeated Mt. Aloysius 3-1 in conference play, before posting a 3-0 non-conference win vs. the Mounties in a second match
* Kyle Hoffman (Carlton, PA/Cochranton) and Lewis Rhodes (Reston, VA/South Lakes) were named the AMCC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively
* Hoffman had double-digit kills in each match for the Lions in a 2-1 week. He posted a .316 attack percentage while averaging 3.42 kills per set and 1.33 digs per set
* Rhodes averaged 1.17 blocks per set in three matches. He tallied 10 block assists and four solo while adding 11 kills and six digs

* The Bison enter the tri-match with a 1-7 overall record
* Bethany has lost its last six matches, including 3-0 at Hiram on Saturday
* The Bison's only win was a 3-0 win against Carlow on January 23
* The win against the Celtics was the first victory in program history since establishing as a varsity sport three years
* Riley Burdett leads the team with 61 kills and ranks second in digs with 26
* Bethany averages 6.73 kills and 5.96 digs per set

* The Bison men's volleyball team returns to the court for the first time since being suspended as a sport in 2013
* Gallaudet are 0-10 on the season, recently falling at Eastern (3-0)
