Behrend Student-Athletes Heading to NCAA Development Conference

Penn State Behrend student-athletes Andy Iams and Harmilee Cousin III have recently been selected to participate in the NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference in Orlando, Florida.  The conference will be held May 24-27 at the Walt Disney Coronado Spring Resort.

The development conference is held annually to provide NCAA member institution student-athletes with a forum to openly discuss issues that may affect them on their campuses and in their communities, while providing student-athletes with the opportunity to enhance their leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.  The goal is to promote better communication among student-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty, and communities.

Iams and Cousin will be two of a total of 601 attendees across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III participating at the conference.  Iams is a junior engineering major on the cross country and track & field teams.  Cousin is a junior economics and finance major and a member of the Behrend swim team.

Iams and Cousin were nominated to attend the conference by Behrend Champs Program Coordinator and Athletic Trainer Angela Meserole.

This is the thirteenth year of the NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference.  Since the first conference in 1997, over 4,350 student-athletes have participated in this event.
