Penn State Behrend Runner Andy Iams Earns All-Mideast Region

Penn State Behrend Junior Andy Iams (Harrison City/Penn Trafford) earned All-Mideast Region recognition after his 33rd place finish in the 2008 Mideast Regional cross country meet at Waynesburg. Iams led the Behrend Lions to a tie for 14th place with Keystone College with a score of 449 points.

Iams finished the course in 26:25 to pace the blue and white.  Iams has been the top runner for the Behrend Lions through out much of the season.  Finishing in 41st was the Behrend Lion's Kevin Gorny (Erie/McDowell ) who helped the blue and white to the strong finish.  Gorny finished the course with a time of 26:41. 

The blue and white also had a strong finish from the women's team as well.  The blue and white finished 22 out of 44 teams in the field.  Emily Berry (Reno/Rocky Grove) finished the course in 24:45 to take a 74th place finish. Jenna Fatica (Erie/Villa Maria) finished 26 seconds behind Berry to finish in the course in 99th place.
