Lions Capture Men's Cross Country AMCC Championship; Klein Crowned Individual Champion

CRESSON, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team collected 20 points to win the 2022 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships on Saturday afternoon at Mt. Aloysius.

Key Moments:
* The Lions registered their conference-leading 15th overall championship and third in a row
* Sophomore Kody Klein (North East, PA/Cathedral Prep) was crowned the AMCC Individual Champion for crossing the line first in a winning time of 27:14.5
* Klein edged Gavin Bathgate from Alfred State by nearly 10 seconds
* Behrend had seven runners in the Top 10 for All-Conference honors
* Nick Temel (Conneaut Lake, PA/Conneaut Area) and Aidan Domencic (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) were the next two to cross the line for Behrend
* Temel was third overall with a time of 28:35.9 and Domencic tallied a time of 28:59.9 for fourth place
* Bennett Kerr (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) ran 29:07.9 for fifth, finishing nearly four minutes faster than last year's AMCC meet time
* Taking seventh and eighth place was Aidan Reinsel (North East, PA/North East) and Joey George (Leechburg, PA/Kiski), respectively
* Reinsel, running in his first AMCC meet, clocked in with a time of 29:20.9 and George was exactly three seconds behind in 29:23.9
* Christopher Annear (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia) ran 30:02.5 for 10th place overall
* The Behrend Lions beat Alfred State (48), while Hilbert and Pitt-Greensburg were tied for third (109)
