* The Lions were chosen to finish first in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) 2019 Preseason Coaches Poll
* Behrend ended the season last year with a 32-13 record overall finishing in second place in the AMCC falling to Mt. Aloysius in the AMCC Championship
* Ashley Gruber will be beginning her sixth season as head coach for the Lions
* Behrend will be returning 12 players and have six newcomers
* Returning for her senior year is 2018 AMCC Player of the Year AJ Nichols (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) who ended last season with a conference leading .82 ERA along with 19 wins and 129 strikeouts
* Along with Nichols, the Lions will be returning AMCC Newcomer of the Year Mackenzie McIntire (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) who tallied 38 RBI's, five home-runs, three triples, and six doubles on the season
