NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Penn State Behrend softball team fell to Christopher Newport in a doubleheader on Saturday.

Game 1
* Behrend took on the Captains in game one falling 11-1
* The Lions fell behind 7-0 by the end of the second inning
* The lone run for the Lions was scored by Kylee Bundy (DuBois, PA/DuBois Area) off an Alayna Derzak (Seven Fields, PA/Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic) RBI

Game 2
* Behrend fell to Christopher Newport in the second game, 13-5
* The Lions started the game off 2-0, until the Captains scored four runs in the bottom of the first
* Mackenzie McIntire (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) led the team with three RBI's with a sacrifice fly and a double
* AJ Nichols (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) finished the game with two hits, two runs, and one RBI
* Christopher Newport was led by Kaitlyn Hasty with four RBI's two hits, and one run
