Lions Cap Off Unbeaten AMCC Season With 6-0 Victory Over Hilbert

ERIE, Pa. -- Sam Pace (Erie, PA/Ft. LeBoeuf) and Rachel Oelbracht (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown) scored two goals each and Allyson Lonas (Johnstown, PA/Conemaugh Township) added two assists to lead the Penn State Behrend women's soccer team past Hilbert 6-0 on Tuesday night at the Behrend field.

Behrend (13-5-1, 9-0 AMCC) dominated both halves of play, outshooting the Hawks 35-5.

Pace opened the scoring with 38:53 remaining in the first half with a shot from just inside the box. Then Shelby Lloyd (Beaver, PA/Beaver Area) joined in the festivities, scoring unassisted following a corner kick to make it 2-0.

At the 31:54 mark of the first half, Leah Morra (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) booted in a long ball from the top of the box off of a Courtney Edwards(Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) pass to make it 3-0 at the break.

Despite the three goal halftime edge, the Lions did not relent.

Lonas and Abbie Schuster (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) found Pace who headed the ball beautifully into the net at the 61:47 mark to make the score 4-nil.

Oelbracht then scored her first two goals of the season less than 10 minutes apart to put the game at 6-0, which is the way it would stay.

Taylor Troyan (Butler, PA/Butler) and Christina Winarski (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) combined for Behrend's 8th shutout of the season. The Lions finished the month of October having only allowed one goal in conference play.

The 2013 season marks the 10th time in program history that the Lions have finished an undefeated conference campaign.

Beherend will host an AMCC Tournament semifinal game on Wednesday, November 6 against an opponent yet to be determined.
