Women's Swimming and Diving Competes at Baldwin Wallace

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace women's swimming and diving team defeated Penn State Behrend 150-71 in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions won three events on the day, beginning with Maryn Horn (Houston, TX/Jersey Village) in the 50 free. She had a winning time of 25.81. Gwendolyn Lowery (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte) was the second winner in the 100 butterfly and Abigail Witmer (Herndon, PA/Herndon) touched first in the 100 backstroke (1:06.71).

Finishing second in the 100 backstroke was Behrend's Allie Schneider (Erie, PA/McDowell) with a time of 1:08.26.

Lowery, Horn, Witmer and Jessica Wyckoff (Elma, NY/Iroquois) were the foursome that made up the second-place 200 medley relay (1:59.02). Lowery added another second-place finish in the 200 freestyle (2:05.93), while Wyckoff was first on the team and second overall in the 100 freestyle (58.82).

Anna Rose Watterson (Baldwin, PA/Seton-La Salle) led the Lions with a time of 19:58.82 in the 1650 freestyle and Kristin Owens (Erie, PA/McDowell) had the best Behrend time of 2:33.57 in the 200 IM for third.

The Lions return to action on Saturday against Penn State Altoona. Meet begins at 1 p.m.
