Women's Swimming and Diving Posts AMCC Win Over Alfred State

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team collected a 162-123 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) win over Alfred State on Saturday afternoon in the Junker Center Pool.

Key Moments:


* The win marks the third dual-meet victory for the Lions and second in the AMCC
* The Lions also had Marcella Puglia (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) Emma Webster (Bradford, PA/Bradford) and Barbie Cessar (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock) win a pair of individual
* Julia Sank (North East, PA/North East) tallied her first victories in the diving events, posting her season-best on the one-meter board (174.50)
* Cessar started with a win in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.52) and touched first in the 200 breaststroke (2:38.46), before coming in second in the 200 IM after leading through the first three strokes
* Puglia was victorious in the 100 free in 56.12 and followed that with a first place in the 500 free (5:36.23)
* Webster won the backstroke events for Behrend, taking the 100 in 1:04.06 and posting a winning time of 2:18.03 in the 200
* The last individual swimming win went to Aliya Webster (Bradford, PA/Bradford) in the 200 freestyle
* A. Webster led a 1-2 finish with a time of 2:10.75
* After 32 events, the Lions held a 133-104 lead with the 3-meter diving, the 200 IM and the final relay remaining
* Sank recorded her second win of the day, earning a 151.30 on the three-meter board
* Puglia, E. Webster, A. Webster and Bella Nadzam (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) won the final 400 free relay in 4:01.39
