GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Pitt-Greensburg women's tennis team defeated Penn State Behrend 6-3 in the  Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) season opener for the Lions on Saturday.

Score: Pitt-Greensburg 6, Penn State Behrend 3

Records: Penn State Behrend (0-1, 0-1 AMCC), Pitt-Greensburg (3-0, 3-0 AMCC)

Key Moments:

* The Bobcats managed a 2-1 lead after the doubles competition, claiming No. 1 and No. 2 doubles
* Behrend tallied an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles thanks to Rachel Weber (Hampton, PA/Hampton) and Sara Howard (Ashtabula, OH/Edgewood)
* Howard not only tallied her first collegiate doubles win but she also registered a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles to go undefeated on the day
* Freshman Audra Carnes (Fairview, PA/Fairview) recorded the other singles win for Behrend in her first collegiate match
* Carnes defeated Kelsey Murphy 6-4, 6-0 at the No. 5 spot
* The Bobcats picked up wins in the first four singles matches to secure the AMCC victory and keep an unblemished record
