Women's Tennis Heads to La Roche in Regular-Season Finale

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's tennis team will compete in their final regular-season match at La Roche in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Friday night at Lakeview Athletic Club. The match begins at 7 p.m.

Penn State Behrend News & Notes:

* The Behrend Lions have clinched a spot in the AMCC Tournament next weekend
* This match will determine the seedings for the playoffs
* The winner will secure the No. 2 seed and face the No. 3 seed in the semifinals on Saturday, April 24
* The Lions are looking to make it four wins in a row heading into the AMCC Tournament
* Behrend is coming off a 6-3 win against Penn State Altoona last Saturday
* Marissa Bowles (South Orange, NJ/Columbia), Audra Carnes (Fairview, PA/Fairview) and Sara Howard (Ashtabula, OH/Edgewood) extended their single winning streaks to three straight matches
* Bowles competes at No. 2 singles, Carnes at the fourth spot and Howard at the fifth/sixth spot
* Carnes and Erica Jasinski (Fairview, PA/Fairview) will go for their fourth straight No. 2 doubles win. The duo currently sits at 3-1 in the AMCC

* The Redhawks are 2-2 overall and 2-2 in the AMCC
* La Roche has defeated Medaille and Mt. Aloysius in conference play
* The Redhawks will fall to the No. 4 seed in the playoffs with a loss against the Behrend Lions
* La Roche is coming off an 8-1 loss to Pitt-Greensburg on Sunday
* Rochelle Selzer leads the team with a 3-0 record at No. 2 singles
