Nola Wins 3000m, Breaks Program Record at AARTFC Championships

NEW YORK, NY – Sophomore Olivia Nola (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) is the All-Atlantic Region Indoor Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Champion in the 3000m, leading Penn State Behrend at the AARTFC Championships at the NYC Armory this weekend.

Key Moments:

* Nola broke her own school record in the 3000m, shaving nearly 16 seconds off her program-record time to bring home the gold (10:04.06)
* Madison Kappeler (Cecil, PA/Canon-McMillan) came in ninth place in the pole vault with a height of 10-08.25
* In the mile, Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin) placed 13th overall with a time of 5:11.41, while Ivy Laffan (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) was 20th individually in the 400m (1:02.42)
* Nola, Laffan, Emily Ferrans (Bradfordwoods, PA/North Allegheny), and Lindsay Hartle (Pittsbugh, PA/Avonworth) ran a time of 13:16.69 in the DMR for 15th place overall
* The Lions placed 26th out of 41 teams with 10 points
