Hartle, Litwiler Qualify for AARTFC Championships At Dave Labor Invite
The Penn State Behrend women’s track & field team took part in the Dave Labor Invitational on Saturday, hosted by Slippery Rock.
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's track & field team took part in the Dave Labor Invitational on Saturday, hosted by Slippery Rock.
Key Moments:
* Freshman Norah Keeney (Ontario, NY/Wayne) recorded the top finish in the field for the Lions with a third-place finish in the discus (104-4). She was followed Braylee Lukehart (Reynoldsville, PA/DuBois Area) (91-4), Emma Whiteman (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) (86-9), and Caroline Lewis (85-11) (Erie, PA/McDowell) in 12th, 18th, and 19th, respectively
* Distance runners Lindsey Hartle (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth) and Bethany Litwiler (Reynolds, PA/Reynolds) ran personal best and regional qualifying times of 39:54.94 and 39:58.73 for sixth and seventh place in the 10000m
* Julia Balaski (Mercer, PA/Mercer) threw 121-10 for fifth place in the javelin, while Lukehart finished 20th (101-1)
* In the shot put, Lukehart registered sixth place with a mark of 32-10
* Senior Ivy Laffan (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) notched 15th place in the 400m with a season best time of 1:02.69
* Jessica Park (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) (Hammer/122-8) and Noelani Takei (Fremont, CA/Irvington) placed (Pole Vault/9-8 ¼) placed 20th in their respective events

* Behrend will compete in the Westminster Invitational next week with hammer throw being at Slippery Rock on Friday, April 11 at 2 p.m. All the other events will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 12 at Westminster
