John Carroll Downs Behrend Women's Volleyball

ERIE, Pa. – The John Carroll women's volleyball team posted a 3-1 win over Penn State Behrend in non-conference action on Wednesday night in the Junker Center.

Final Score: John Carroll 3, Behrend 1 (25-9, 25-20, 23-25, 25-12)

* The Blue Streaks keep an undefeated record against the Lions at 5-0
* John Carroll hit. 455 in the first set for a 25-9 win and then took a two set lead with 14 kills in the second to post a 25-20 decision
* Behrend edged the Blue Streaks in the third behind 10 teams kills with five different players getting two kills each
* In the third set, Sara Nobach (Athens, MI/Athens) served three straight points to break a 20-all tie and get the Lions ahead 23-20
* John Carroll came within one but the Lions got a kill from Cadence Jones (North East, PA/North East) and took advantage of an attack error to capture the set
* Jones finished with nine kills and nine digs
* Nobach had 11 digs and Brynne Smith (Butler, PA/Knoch) managed 20 assists
* Hannah Smith (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) and B. Smith each added six kills
