Women's Water Polo Splits on Final Day of CWPA Action

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team ends league play in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) with a loss to Washington & Jefferson and a victory over Grove City.

Final Scores:
Washington & Jefferson 11, Penn State Behrend 7
Penn State Behrend 13, Grove City 12 (2OT)

Noteworthy:

* The Lions and Wolverines went into double overtime to decide a winner with Behrend earning the victory 13-12
* Emily McNaughton (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland) cashed in off a pass from Olivia Wright (Fairview, PA/Fairview) to clinch the victory with just 12 seconds left in the second overtime period
* Just prior, McNaughton tied it with 41 seconds remaining to set up the game-winning goal
* McNaughton tied for the team lead in goals in the win alongside Marley Persch (Hudsonville, MI/Hudsonville) with four each
* Persch led the Lions on the day in scoring, adding two against the Presidents making it six total between the two games
* Samantha Darrell (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) found the back of the net multiple times against Grove City, potting two
* Chloe Dodgen (Riverside, CA/Hillcrest) made 16 saves over the two games
