Women's Cross Country Competes at Houghton

HOUGHTON, NY - The Penn State Behrend women's cross country began the 2021 season with a third-place finish at the Houghton Invitational on Wednesday.

* Brockport State came across the finish line first (24) and the hosts, the Highlanders, came in second (40), followed by the Lions in third (84) and Alfred came in fourth (94)
* The Behrend Lions had 10 runners compete in the race
* Freshman Olivia Nola (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) took first on the team and 13^th overall with a time of 16:16.09
* Jessie Johnson (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) clocked in with a time of 16:39.98 to take second on the squad and 22^nd overall
* The third runner to cross the finish line for the Lions was junior Izzy Spires (Wattsburg, PA/Seneca) with a time of 16:51.79 for 24^th place
