Penn State Behrend Golf Team Annual Awards

The Penn State Behrend Lions golf team recognized three playes with its annual team awards. Senior Joe Nelson (Warren, PA/Warren) was honored with the program's MVP and Leadership and Scholarship award, while senior Pat Petraglia (Pittsburgh, PA/Chartiers Valley) was named the Most Improved Player. The Rookie of the Year award was presented to program newcomer Kyle Meehl (North East/North East).

Nelson was named the 2010 AMCC Player of the Year and was a three-time all-league performer. Petraglia was also named to the all-conference squad. He played big in the conference tournament earning medalist honors with a tournament best round of 70 on the first day and an 80 on the second.  Meehl contributed to the team all season and carded a 162 in the conference tournament as the blue and white captured the 2010 AMCC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time. Based on his team's finish, Head Coach James Bowen was named the AMCC Coach of the Year.
