Behrend Women's Soccer Heads to Rochester for NCAA Tournament

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team will travel to Rochester, New York, and the campus of the University of Rochester to take on the sixth-ranked YellowJackets (12-0-5) in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

The Lions (13-4-2) are making their 12th appearance in the tournament, earning the automatic bid and winning their 16th Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) after defeating Pitt-Greensburg 3-0 in penalty kicks on Saturday.

Rochester completed its first-ever undefeated season with a 2-1 win over top-seed Emory in the final University Athletic Association (UAA) game, ending the league's runner up by one point in the standings and earning an at-large bid.

The YellowJackets will also host No. 24 Misericordia (13-3-1) vs. No. 25 Wesleyan (7-3-6) with the winners of each match facing off Sunday.

This will be the fourth time Behrend and Rochester square off against each other and first since 2010. The Lions have never faced Misericordia and fell to Wesleyan in the first round of the NCAA Tournament 1-0 in 2021.
