Trio of Lions Notch AMCC Weekly Honors

ERIE, Pa. – Three Penn State Behrend female student-athletes were named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week.

Senior Hannah Phillips (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) earned Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week Honors after posting her third double-double with a season-high 22 kills and 21 digs in a 3-1 win over Westminster. Phillips averaged 4.08 kills and 3.31 digs in four matches, while also adding six assists and six service aces. Her efforts earned her a spot on the Behrend Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Teammate Sara Nobach (Athens, MI/Athens) was selected as the Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, tallying 75 digs for an average of 5.77 digs per set over four matches last weekend. Nobach reached 500 career digs with 21 against Utica and then went on to add a season-best 22 digs versus Westminster.

Goalkeeper Riley Morningstar (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) notched honors as Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, finishing with 10 saves over two games this past weekend. Morningstar helped the Lions secure their first victory of the season by recording six saves against Nazareth, including a stop on a penalty kick by the Golden Flyers.

Women's volleyball is on the road at Allegheny this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., while women's soccer takes on Houghton and Allegheny at home this week.
