ERIE, Pa. – Catie Bertges (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) has been named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Region team.
This announcement is another in a long line of honors for Bertges, who on Saturday advanced to the NCAA Championships with an 11th place finish at the NCAA Mideast Regional in Bethlehem, PA.
The Behrend senior was a five-time Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) runner of the week this season and was named AMCC Runner of the Year following her first place finish at the conference championship meet. She has five top-five finishes thus far in 2013, including three race victories.
Bertges was one of just seven runners from the NCAA Mideast Regional to automatically qualify for the national meet. She will now travel to Hanover, Indiana for the Division III National Championship on Saturday, November 23. The race will get underway at 11 a.m.
