Hanover, IN – Catie Bertges (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) finished with a time of 22:45.8 at the 2013 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships in Hanover, Indiana on Saturday morning.
The senior finished the 6K race in 124th place on a brisk day that featured a muddy course in southern Indiana.
Earlier this month, Bertges became the first ever Penn State Behrend women's cross country runner to advance to the national championship following an 11th place finish at the NCAA Mideast Regional in Bethlehem, Pa.
Saturday's race completes a dream season for Bertges, who earlier this year won the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) championship race and was named AMCC women's Runner of the Year. She finishes her career as one of the most successful athletes ever to run at Penn State Behrend.
