Keller Earns AMCC FAR Award; Herd Named All-Academic

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend graduated senior Liz Keller has earned the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Female Faculty Athletic Representative Award for the 2010-11 academic year.

Keller also joins graduated senior and men’s soccer player Zach Herd on the All-Academic Team, representing the Lions as the top student-athletes in both the classroom and in competition.  Keller earned the prestigious Faculty Athletic Representative Award for boasting a 3.92 grade-point average and excelling in cross country and track and field.

Keller and Herd were also given the John Zahniser Scholar-Athlete Award, presented annually to the female student-athlete who best combined academic and athletic achievements.

This season, Keller finished fifth in the 1500m race at the Mason Dixon Track & Field Outdoor Championships while Herd led the Lions to appearance in the AMCC Championships and ECAC Tournament.
