ERIE, Pa. – The United Soccer Coaches announced the All-Region teams for the 2021 season, naming sophomore Andrew Cassano (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) a second team selection within region seven.

Cassano was named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Defensive Player of the Year as well as a first team All-Conference selection earlier this month following a strong showing to help the Lions claim the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.

Behrend led the AMCC in multiple statistical categories on the defensive side with Cassano anchoring the back line. The Lions led the conference in goals against (2) as well as goals against average (0.25) against conference opponents. Offensively, he chipped in with two goals and an assist in conference action for a total of five points and was named AMCC Defensive Player of the Week on October 25.

Cassano is one of two players from the AMCC selected to the All-Region team, the other being Ander Castillo from Medaille.
