Men's Swimming Heads to Three-Day Oberlin Invitational

ERIE, Pa.  – The Penn State Behrend men's swimming and diving season will spend three days competing at the Oberlin Invitational beginning on Thursday and ending on Saturday night at the Carr Pool.

* The three-day championship meet format will consist of preliminary sessions in the morning beginning at 9 a.m. with championship and consolation finals at 6 p.m.
* Each swimmer may be entered in up to three individual events and four relays
* The Lions enter the weekend with the fastest times in the 200 free relay, 400 medley relay and the 400 free relay among the participating teams
* Graduate student Jake Schmidt (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) has the fastest time in the 500 freestyle (4:56.38), the 200 freestyle (1:46.30) and the 1650 freestyle (16:59.59)
* Senior Jacob Eshelman (Franklin, PA/Franklin) has the third-best time in the 200 IM (2:05.46) and the 200 breaststroke (2:18.59)
* Leading the Lions in the 200 butterfly will be freshman Tim Compton (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny), who enters with a time of 1:58.42 for second seed of 16
* Following Schmidt in the 1650 free is senior James Connolly (Allentown, PA/Parkland) with the second-fastest time at 17:10.00
* Last time out, Behrend fell to Baldwin Wallace 118-105 on November 6
* Compton was named AMCC Swimmer of the Week for winning two events and setting a new pool record in the 200 butterfly against the Yellow Jackets
