Penn State Behrend Play Tough in the Junker Pool

Penn State Behrend entered the Junker Center pool on Saturday, September 27th trying to improve on a 1-3 record. 

The blue and white took on the Mercyhurst Lakers in the first of two games in the Junker Center pool.  The Behrend Lions hung tough throughout the match.  After the first quarter the Behrend Lions found themselves in a 2-2 tie.  The second proved to be the difference in the match. The Lakers put up six goals to extend its lead to 8-4 at half time.  The blue and white came out in the second half and played tough defense.  The Lakers however would prevail with a 15-9 mark.  Derek Sieber (Erie/McDowell) led the blue and white with three goals against the Lakers, while Jon Bacon (Glendale, CA/Crespi Carmelite) added two. 

In game two the Behrend Lions took on the Salem International Tigers.  The Behrend Lions shut down the Tiger offense in the second and third quarters leading to a 9-4 win.  Keith Yaegle(Warren/Warren) led the blue and white with two goals. 

The Penn State Behrend Lions will be in action when they travel to California to participate in the Claremont Invitational on October 3rd and 4th.  They will play four games in two days while they are in California.   The blue and white will enter the Junker Center pool again when they host Gannon on October 17th at 9:00 p.m.
