ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend softball team will open the 2020 season in Clermont, Florida this week to participate in the Spring Games over spring break.

* The Lions were chosen to finish second in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) 2020 Preseason Coaches Poll
* Behrend ended last season with a 28-12 record overall, finishing in first place in the regular season
* The Lions fell to Franciscan in the AMCC semifinal round
* Ashley Gruber begins her seventh season as head coach for Behrend
* The Lions are returning 12 players and welcoming four newcomers
